As of December 2012, our own Dr. Liz Ruelle became Alberta's first (and currently only) board certified specialist in feline practice. We are proud to offer the quality of medicine expected from a veterinarian of this caliber in the context of a general veterinary practice. We know that feline medicine is always evolving, therefore we place a strong emphasis on continuing education and our happy to consult with local specialists to provide our patients with the best treatment options. We are pleased to offer a “dog free” environment to help decrease the stress on both you and your cat. As our doctors spends 100% of their days caring for our feline friends, and are cat owners themselves, they have special insight into both the medical and caregiver side of cat medicine.
We offer 30 minute consultations as standard to ensure that you, and your cat, are not rushed and that all concerns can be addressed. Remember that this is your time with the doctor – the only silly questions are the ones not asked! During these wellness exams, our doctors will share updates on feline medicine and tailor vaccination and deworming protocols to meet your cat’s individual needs.
We believe that prevention of disease is the best course of action and therefore are pleased to offer our clients comprehensive wellness services including new kitten exams, annual wellness visits, senior examinations, and elective surgeries (i.e. spaying and neutering). Although we emphasize preventive medicine through annual and semi-annual check-ups, nutritional counseling, tailored vaccine programs, dental care, and weight management, rest assured that we will be there for you, and your cat, in times of accident and illness. Although we are not a 24 hour practice, we care about our patients 24/7 and will work with local emergency clinics to ensure that care is always available.
